Jasmine Seibers’ early life wasn’t like a normal American girl’s. But then again, Jasmine Seibers isn’t like most other American teenagers. Jasmine, whose voice has captured the hearts of many, is Asian-American with a Filipino mother and American father. Born in Fort Stewart Georgia in 1994, she spent most of her life in Japan and South Korea where she mastered taekwondo and scuba diving. But her parents knew that Jasmine had an even stronger talent—a God-given voice—and helped develop her love of music at an early age with a karaoke machine. Jasmine would love to perform for her parents with her larger-than-life voice. She expanded on that musical talent by learning to play the guitar and piano, but her undeniable focus is singing and making others happy through her music.
In 2007, Jasmine and her parents moved to a small Southern Illinois town where her father had been raised. A new life, culture, and experience awaited Jasmine, and she embraced the challenges. Not long after they moved, the town put on its annual talent show, and Jasmine’s grandmother entered Jasmine into the contest (without her knowledge at first). But instead of running, Jasmine practiced until she perfected her act. And to no surprise of anyone who heard her sing, she won first place. That performance was the springboard to nearly fifty more shows and competitions in just three years.
Jasmine’s amazing voice and edgy country style captured the attention of Nashville producers and accomplished musicians alike. After recording a cover album in 2008, she set her sights on creating a CD of her own music. Her own style. Her own stories.
Jasmine explains, “When I perform, I want people to feel what I feel and to see what I see.” Determined and focused, Jasmine is on her way to making a name for herself in the music industry, setting the country music scene on fire.
Whether she’s wearing muddy boots or high heeled shoes, Jasmine is comfortable with being herself, which is exactly how she approaches her lyrics…pouring her heart and soul into her music and continuously striving to be “real.” Jasmine’s latest CD will be completed in the spring of 2012.
