Their upbeat songs have meaningful lyrics and the band’s musicianship is as good as most groups twice their age.

Fronted by three female singers, Jetset Getset has been likened by some critics to a younger version of the Dixie Chicks. It is a comparison the group welcomes, but not one they intended. Indeed, Jetset Getset has a sound and a stage presence that is uniquely theirs.

Jetset Getset is comprised of singers Tori Little, Avery Eliason and Sadie Loveland, and musicians Jason Owens (lead guitar), Justen Jette (rhythm guitar), Paul Kelley (bass), Gillian Bowman (drums/percussion), and Terry Ranck (keyboards – a.k.a. “Grandpa”), the only adult who performs with Jetset Getset on a regular basis.

Based in Dearborn County, Indiana (just across the state line from Cincinnati, Ohio), Jetset Getset began in 2011 when music teacher-turned-manager Kelli Jette decided to assemble a young group to perform at local festivals, mostly for fun. Soon, the group was venturing farther from home, as far south as Virginia and Tennessee and as far north as Minnesota, entertaining audiences with their pitch-perfect harmonies and precisely choreographed stage moves.

In the spring of 2012, JSGS was performing their signature song “Indiana Baby” on the nationally syndicated “Shotgun Red Variety Show” on Nashville’s RFD-TV network, when retired country music producer and radio legend Jack Gale happened to see them. Impressed with the group’s harmonies, Gale contacted Jette and asked if JSGS would be interested in signing a recording contract. After conferring with the group’s parents, Jette said yes. Gale came out of retirement and reactivated his company, Playback Records, in Nashville.

“Jetset Getset is terrific,” Gale says. “There are very few kids singing country music, and these girls’ harmonies are different from anything that anyone else is doing.”

With help from co-producer Jim Pierce (who had previously produced for the likes of Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and many other top names in the industry), Gale and JSGS spent five days recording at the acclaimed Nashville studios Catch This Music and Sound Control, under the direction of engineer Mark Moseley. Joining Jetset Getset on the album are some of Nashville’s top session musicians: guitarist Kerry Marx, drummer Eddie Bayers, acoustic guitarist Michael Spriggs, bass guitarist Duncan Mullins, pianist Michael Rojas, fiddler Rob Hajacos, and fiddler/mandolin player Wanda Vick.

“It was like a fairytale, working with those world-class musicians in Nashville,” says Eliason. “We tried to act cool and professional in the studio, but every night we went back to the hotel room, jumped around like crazy on the beds, and screamed our excitement into our pillows so we wouldn’t wake up the neighbors.”

The result is Jetset Getset’s first professionally produced album, “Saturday Night,” featuring 10 outstanding songs about life, love and friendship. Some songs on the album, such as the anthem-like “Stronger” and the energetic “Think About You,” were composed by Jennifer Eliason, the mother of singer Avery Eliason, in collaboration with her songwriting son, Trent. Others were written by established country music songwriters, including Britain’s Nelson King and Nashville’s Tom Paden, who has penned hits for Reba McEntire, Kenny Rogers and other country music icons.

Jetset Getset had previously released a self-produced album. But “Saturday Night” boasts the kind of polished sound that only experienced producers and engineers working with talented singers and musicians can achieve. We think you will like it. And if you should ever have an opportunity to see Jetset Getset perform in concert, don’t miss them! We know you will have a great time.

Jasmine Siebers

http://www.radiolibertyky.com/rlky-blog/jasmine-siebers

http://www.radiolibertyky.com/rlky-blog/jasmine-siebers#comments

Guests

Jasmine Seibers’ early life wasn’t like a normal American girl’s. But then again, Jasmine Seibers isn’t like most other American teenagers. Jasmine, whose voice has captured the hearts of many, is Asian-American with a Filipino mother and American father. Born in Fort Stewart Georgia in 1994, she spent most of her life in Japan and South Korea where she mastered taekwondo and scuba diving. But her parents knew that Jasmine had an even stronger talent—a God-given voice—and helped develop her love of music at an early age with a karaoke machine. Jasmine would love to perform for her parents with her larger-than-life voice. She expanded on that musical talent by learning to play the guitar and piano, but her undeniable focus is singing and making others happy through her music.

In 2007, Jasmine and her parents moved to a small Southern Illinois town where her father had been raised. A new life, culture, and experience awaited Jasmine, and she embraced the challenges. Not long after they moved, the town put on its annual talent show, and Jasmine’s grandmother entered Jasmine into the contest (without her knowledge at first). But instead of running, Jasmine practiced until she perfected her act. And to no surprise of anyone who heard her sing, she won first place. That performance was the springboard to nearly fifty more shows and competitions in just three years.

Jasmine’s amazing voice and edgy country style captured the attention of Nashville producers and accomplished musicians alike. After recording a cover album in 2008, she set her sights on creating a CD of her own music. Her own style. Her own stories.

Jasmine explains, “When I perform, I want people to feel what I feel and to see what I see.” Determined and focused, Jasmine is on her way to making a name for herself in the music industry, setting the country music scene on fire.
Whether she’s wearing muddy boots or high heeled shoes, Jasmine is comfortable with being herself, which is exactly how she approaches her lyrics…pouring her heart and soul into her music and continuously striving to be “real.” Jasmine’s latest CD will be completed in the spring of 2012.

Rick and Jasmine in the studio of RadioLibertyKy.com
just after her interview.
