Bennie Noel of Casey County, KY, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2016
at the Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, KY. He
Born June 13, 1930, in Casey County, KY, he was the son of the late
Felbert Ray Noel and Pearl Gabehart Noel. He was a farmer and member
of the Noel’s Chapel First Church of God.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved
wife, Doris Bailey Noel , who died August 30, 2012; a daughter, Glenda
Margaret Noel; four brothers, Charles, Samuel, Earl, and Walter Noel;
and five sisters, Mary Dean, Nellie Land, Mamie Jean Noel, Marie
Thomas, and Mable Schultz Noel.
Survivors include a son, Timothy Noel of Liberty; daughter, Pamela J.
Noel of Campbellsville; two brothers, Edward Noel of Liberty and Henry
(and Jetty) Noel of Glens Fork; and two sisters, Martha (and Shearl)
Murphy of Liberty and Ruth (and Howard) Murphy of Versailles; three
grandchildren, David, Cassandra, and Ava Noel ; and two
great-grandchildren, Dylan and Shawn Noel.
Funeral services are 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Noels Chapel
First Church of God with Bro. Cameron Cain and Bro. Harold Dupps
officiating. Mr. Bennie Noel will be laid to rest in Noel’s Chapel

Bonnie “Pauline” Thompson, age 89, of Liberty, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at the Liberty Care Center. Born February 21, 1927, in Wayne Co., KY, she was the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Linda Corder Roberts. Pauline was a member of the Walnut Hill Separate Baptist Church. She was a 30+ year retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville. She enjoyed quilting and cooking. Survivors include her granddaughter, Angela (Victor) Black of Liberty and great-granddaughter, Reagan Black of Liberty. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orn Thompson; son, Howard Thompson; and siblings, Allie Tucker, Clarence Roberts, Homer Roberts, Lloyd Roberts, Hobert Roberts, Obie Roberts, Alma Godsey, and Boyd Roberts. Opal Mae Watson, age 79 of Liberty, KY passed away on Wednesday July 13, 2016, at the Casey County Hospital. Born September 18, 1936 in Kings Mountain, KY a daughter of the late Eard and Alice Napier Snow.
She was preceded in death by her spouse; Eulas Ray Watson, one son; Charles Ray Watson, one daughter; Donna Watson and two brothers; Donald and Gomer Snow.
Opal was a homemaker.

Elma P. Buis, age 80, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2016, at the Russell County Hospital. Born May 31, 1936, in Casey Co., KY, she was a daughter of the late Arnold and Lena Wall Buis. Mrs. Buis was a homemaker and a member of the Willow Springs United Methodist Church. She had a strong faith in God. She was independent, strong willed, and a proud Republican. Mrs. Buis enjoyed canning, fishing, and the drink Dr. Pepper.Survivors include her sons, James Vernon Meeks, Jr., Randy Arnold (and wife, Tonya) Meeks, and Lelious Raymond (and wife, Angie) Meeks, all of Liberty; daughters, Kathy (and husband, Robert) Myers of Liberty and Karen (and husband, David) Eastham of Eubank; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. Nabuko M. Wilson passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016 at her home in
Dunnville, KY. She was 84.
Born April 1, 1932 in Japan, she is the widow of Chester P. Wilson,
who died January 21, 1995. She was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include three step-sons, Chester Wayne Wilson, Tommy Lee
Wilson, and Ronny Wilson; a step-daughter, Sarah Davis; and siblings
that reside in Japan.
Graveside services are 2:30 P.M. EST Monday, July 11, 2016 at Mill
Springs National Cemetery. Burial will follow service.
Marty Dale Mays, Sr. of Liberty, KY passed away July 7, 2016 at the Casey County Hospital. He was 51 years of age.
Born August 11, 1964 in Casey County, KY, he is the son of Foster Mays and the late Jean Cotton Cooper. He was a devoted husband, father, and of the Baptist faith. Marty also loved his animals, fishing, and driving his tractors. In years past, he enjoyed drag racing. He was a carpet installer for over 30 years.
Survivors include his beloved wife Janie Romans Mays; one son, Marty (Rachael) Mays, Jr. of Liberty; four daughters, Christy Mays (Todd) of Liberty, Kelly (Dwayne) Mays of Winchester, Jessica (Clayton) Spradlin of Bethelridge, and Shannon Mays (Buddy Smith) of Liberty; three sisters, Lora (David) Guy of Liberty, Donna Jean Herring of Berea, and Kathy Bean of Paris, KY; and fourteen grandchildren.
Cremation rights were honored by McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Boo Hardwick, age 34, of Liberty, KY passed away on Tuesday July 5th, 2016 at in Liberty. He was born in Liberty, KY on August 3rd, 1981 to Jerry Dale Hardwick Sr. of McKinney, KY and Clydeen Wilson Campbell of Liberty.
Boo was a former employee of Intelligrated.

Mark Steven Ponder, age 65 of Yosemite, KY passed away on Sunday July 3rd, 2016 at the U.K. Medical Center. Born March 9th, 1951 in Danville, KY he was the son of the late Marcus Taylor and Aline Coleman Ponder.
He was preceded in death by a Grandson: Dustin Joe Morgan, a Sister: Dale Ponder Helton who passed away on July 3rd, 2009 and a Niece Cynthia Ann Phillips.
Mark was a owner/operator with mercer Transportation and Owner of Ponder Construction. He was a longtime employee of Ponder Pallet in Kings Mountain, KY, former manager at South Indiana Lumber Co. in Henryville, IN. He was an enthusiast of motorcycles, cars and antiques. He was a former partner with David T. Ponder in Ponder Logging. Mark loved cats, but most important was his passion for his family, especially being able to fix the family a huge breakfast. Mark was a person that enjoyed life to the fullest. He was a member of Middleburg Baptist Church.
He is survived by his Daughter: Rhonda Elizabeth Taylor of Munfordville, his Significant other: Beverly Goff Drummond of Yosemite, Two Step-Sons: Carey Lewis Mitchell of Yosemite and Michael Neal Mitchell of Wynne, AR, Three Step-Grandchildren: Ashtan Ryan, Danielle and Gracie Mitchell, One Step Great Grandchild: Lincoln Franks, Two Nephews: Glen E. Phillips Jr. of Liberty, KY and Richard L. Helton of Warner Robins, GA, whom felt that Mark was a father figure.

Lowell D. Lynn Sr., age 70, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 25, 2016. He was a resident of Martinsville, IN.
Lowell was born on November 13, 1945 in Casey Co., Kentucky to his parents, the late Ira and Ola (Murphy) Lynn. He attended Wood High School in Indianapolis and received a degree in Pastoral Ministry from Union Bible College & Academy in Westfield. Lowell was also a preacher for over 20 years.
Lowell was retired as the owner and operator of L.D. Lynn Electrical & Mechanical Services in Plainfield. Prior to that, he worked as a supervisor for Max Katz Bag Company in Indianapolis.
Lowell attended the Gateway Chapel Bible Holiness Church in Martinsville, was member of the NRA and a proud Delegate for the Republican Party. He enjoyed reading his Bible, walking in the woods and was a collector of flashlights. Lowell enjoyed traveling and helping others. He worked many Missionary Trips and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Lowell is survived by his wife of 53 years, Gay Francis (Murray) Lynn, whom he married on October 20, 1962 in Trousdale, Tennessee. He is also survived by his children, Christina Hansel and Lowell D. (Jessica) Lynn Jr. both of Coatesville, Donald C. (Christine) Lynn of North Salem, Rachel (Thomas) Roach of Martinsville, John P. (Betty) Lynn of Plainfield, Jessie A. (Stacie) Lynn of Martinsville, Joseph A. Lynn of Plainfield and Lori D. (Buck) McKinney of Coatesville; siblings, Lois Beck of Louisville, KY, Geraldine Francis of Speedway and Gary (Netty) Lynn of Liberty, KY; 22 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Lucille Neff and Donnie Lynn.

He was known by many as “Don Juan the Magic Man”.Survivors include his wife, Connie Owens Edwards; father, William Edwards; mother, Betty Beal Bell; brother, Floyd Coppage; sisters, Bonita Cooper, Deb Luttrell, Constance Bell, and Delonda Edwards; step-brother, Doug Bell; and step-sister, Sheila Bell. Kirby Carman of Kings Mountain, KY passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016
at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. He was 75.
Born August 7, 1940 in Casey County, KY, he is the son of the late
Eunice Boone and Della Elliott Carman. He was a farmer.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved
wife, Vera Mae Singleton Carman, who died May 19, 2016; two sons,
David and Danny Carman; two brothers, Roger and Conrad Carman; and a
sister, Berdena Carman.
Survivors include two daughter, Louise (and John) Hines of Mintonville
and Debbie (and Gary) Luttrell of Yosemite; daughter -in –law, Jeannie
Carman of Kings Mountain; ten grandchildren; sixteen
great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Minnie Carman Spears of Danville
and Faustine Coffey of Martinsville, Indiana.

Charles Lucas, 90 of Middleburg, passed away Friday July 1, 2016 in Danville, KY. Born January 8, 1926, he was the son of Herman Francis and Zella Mae Lucas.
Charles was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran. He was a lifelong farmer and former employee of Watson’s Gate Co. He attended Union College and was a lifelong member of Middleburg Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Dollie Evans Lucas, Two Sons: Curtis and (Patty) Lucas and Kenneth and (Kathy) Lucas all of Middleburg, One Daughter: Mary Ann and (Mark) Durham of New Salem. He is also survived by One Sister: Madelle Lucas Stafford of Danville, Seven Grandchildren, Two Great Grandchildren and many Nieces and Nephews.

Maddie Brockman, age 21, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016, in Boyle Co., KY.
Born July 13, 1994, in Danville, KY, she was the daughter of Joe Brockman and Andrea Ellison Clements. Maddie was a “Free Spirit” who enjoyed life. She was a 2012 Graduate of Lincoln County High School. She formerly attended Morehead State University where she was a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority. She also attended the Lindsey Institute of Cosmetology. Maddie just recently graduated from the Durham Beauty School. She was a member of the Hustonville Baptist Church.

Russell B. Pendleton, age 49, of Adair County, KY, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at the Russell County Hospital.
Born June 3, 1967, in Pulaski Co., KY, he was a son of Roger Glen Pendleton and the late Judy Carol Fox Hall. Russell was a former machinist and welder. He was also a former gate hauler. Russell was a friend to many and never met a stranger.
Survivors include his father, Roger Glen Pendleton; son, Aaron Pendleton; daughter, Shonna Roy; brothers, Phillip, Roger Dale, Kevin, and Greg Pendleton; sisters, JoAnn Dick, Karen Pendleton, and Jennifer Pendleton; fiancé, Saundra Turpin; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and brothers, Darin, Troy, and Jeffrey Glen Pendleton.

Betty Sue Waters, age 64, of Liberty, KY passed away on Tuesday June 14th, 2016 at Seasons Hospice Palliative Care Waukesha. She was born in Cincinnati, OH on February 23rd, 1952 to the late James Henderson Gibson and Wanetta Gray Gibson.
Betty was the widow of Quinton Truson Waters and was a Seamstress.

Donald Ray Wilson, age 77, of Liberty, KY passed away on Wednesday June 15th, 2016 at Russell County Hospital. He was born in Liberty, KY on December 3rd, 1938 to the late Elmer S. and Lula True Wilson.
Donald was the widower of Barbara Terry Wilson, Donald was a Retired Supervisor for the Gas Department with the City of Liberty for 27 Years, Donald was the Chief of the Liberty Fire Department for 55 years, a former member of the Liberty Casey County Rescue Squad, Liberty City Council and Glenwood Cemetery Board. Donald was also a former employee of M & W Service Station and Bartle Funeral Home, Donald was past master of Craftsman Lodge 722 F&AM, and a member of the Liberty United Methodist Church.

Fausteen Chumbley, age 83, of Liberty, KY passed away on Saturday June 11th, 2016 at Liberty Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Evona, KY on August 24th, 1932 to the late Estill and Effie Henson Wesley.
Fausteen was the widow of Cecil Chumbley and was the former owner of Chumbley’s Grocery, former cook at Phelps Elementary School and a member of New Life Tabernacle.
Survivors include: One Daughter: Joyce Troxell of Monticello, KY, Seven Grandchildren, Fifteen Great Grandchildren and Six Great Great Grandchildren.

Charlie Watson passed away Monday, June 6, 2016 at his home in Casey
County, KY. He was 59.
Born May 22, 1957 in Casey County, KY, he was the son of the late
Eulas “Stub” Watson and Opal Snow Watson. He was construction worker
and member of the Grove Ridge Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Charli Rae McClanahan of Cincinnati,
Ohio; five grandchildren; five brothers, Scottie Watson of Hillsboro,
Ohio, Johnny Watson of Somerset, Larry and James Watson both of
Liberty, and Junior Watson of Campbellsville; three sisters, Judy
Kappes of Louisville, Betty Gilpin of Indiana, and Joyce Ross of Ohio;
and a special friend, Amanda Luttrell of Liberty.

Eva Sanders, age 88, of Liberty, KY passed away on Tuesday May 31st, 2016 at Florence Park Nursing Home. She was born in Liberty, KY on March 26th, 1928 to the late Robert Cecil and Gracie Lee Allen.
Eva was the widow of Omer Thomas Sanders and was a Homemaker and former employee of Fruit of the Loom and the Village Restaurant. Eva also attended Bethlehem United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: Two Sons: Dannie Sanders of Whitehouse, OH and Donnie Sanders of Cincinnati, OH, One Daughter: Shirlene Scott of Union, KY, Seventeen Grandchildren, Thirty Three Great Grandchildren, Seven Great Great Grandchildren and One Sister: Violet Wilson of Burlington, KY.
Preceding her death besides her parents and spouse are One Son: Joey Sanders, Four Daughters: Sharon Martin, Carol Wethington, Ruby Lee Sanders and Venita Joyce Sanders and Three Brothers: Wayman, Jewll and John L. Allen.
Visitation will be held 6:00 P.M. till 9:00 P.M. Thursday June 2nd, 2016 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday June 3rd, 2016 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dwight Coffman officiating. Burial will be in the Whited Cemetery.
Violet M. Fraley passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at her home in
Liberty, KY. She was 83.
Born May 30, 1933 in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the
late Ora and Mary Wall Napier. She was a homemaker and member of the
Revival Tabernacle in Lexington, KY. Violet loved to crochet, yard
sale, and read. She adored her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved
husband, Raymond L. Fraley, who died May 28, 2010; a brother, Vernon
Napier; and two sisters, Vivian Kraft and Bernice Conder.
Survivors include her children, Wendell (and Teresa) Brown of
Lexington, Sharon “Cookie” (and Jim) Hedrick of Liberty, Debbie (and
Bobby) Tudor of Lancaster, and Karen Brown of Liberty; seven
grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a
sister, Velma Bastin of Liberty; two brothers-in-law, Bob Kraft of
Lebanon and Clarence (and Betty) Fraley of Harlan, KY; special friend,
Sharon Scott of Liberty; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 4, 2016 at
McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Brad King officiating. Burial
will follow in Casey County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is Friday, June 3, 2016 from 5:00-9:00 P.M. at
McKinney-Brown Funeral Home and will continue Saturday from 8:00 A.M.
until funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Hospice of Lake
Cumberland, 100 Parkway Drive, Somerset, KY 42503 in memory of Violet
Pallbearers are Jim Hedrick, Mike Brown, Jordan Brown, Shawn Martin,
Donovan Hamm, and Daniel Cheeseman. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy
Luttrell, Jimmy Patterson, Bobby Tudor, Robbie Tudor, Jonathon Dailey
and Garry Rowland.
