POST 15, COLUMBIA
DEATH INVESTIGATION  
Released: 11/14/11

(Casey County, KY) – Detective Alex Wesley is investigating a house fire at 475 Carmicle Street in Liberty KY
that resulted in the death of a Casey County man.  Kentucky State Police in Columbia received a call from
Casey County dispatch on Sunday 11/13/11 at 9:24 P.M. requesting assistance with the fire investigation.

Detective Alex Wesley responded to the scene and discovered that Bobby Dale Randolph, age 57, of Liberty
had been pronounced deceased by the Casey County Coroner as a result of the fire.  The cause of the fire is
still under investigation but foul play is not suspected at this time.

Detective Wesley was assisted at the scene by Trooper Adam Likins and Sergeant Ira Napier of the Kentucky
State Police, Liberty Police Department, Liberty Fire Department and the State Fire Marshall’s Office.  
Further investigation to determine the cause of the fire will take place later today, Monday 11/14/11.

FATAL COLLISION

(Marion County, KY) – Trooper Fred Cornett is investigating a fatal collision that occurred Tuesday
11/15/11 at approximately 7:43 P.M. in Marion County.  Eugene Owens, age 35 of Lebanon, was
operating a 2001 Pontiac two door traveling East on KY 68 two miles West of Lebanon.  Owens
attempted to turn left onto Mcelroy Pike and turned into the path of a 2007 Chevrolet pickup being
operated by Tim Clark, age 57 of Lebanon.
Clark’s vehicle struck Owens’ vehicle in the passenger side causing it to drop off the roadway and
travel down an embankment before coming to final rest in a ditch.  Clark, who was not belted, was
partially ejected and transported to Springview Hospital where he was treated and released.  Owens,
who was belted, was transported to UofL hospital for treatment of injuries.
There were three passengers in the Owens vehicle.  Shirley Vancleave, age 20 of Lebanon, was not
belted and was ejected from the vehicle.  She was transported to UofL hospital for treatment of her
injuries.  Ryasia Vancleave, age 2 of Lebanon, was belted but not in a child restraint and was treated
and released at Springview Hospital.  Rashawna Vancleave, age 1 of Lebanon, was belted but not in a
child restraint and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Marion County Coroner.
Trooper Cornett was assisted at the scene by the Marion County Sheriff’s office, Marion County EMS
and Sergeant David Gibbs of the Kentucky State Police.  The investigation is ongoing by Trooper
Cornett.
A single vehicle accident Wed morning 11-23-11 on Hwy 49 in front of Douglas School, knocked a City of
Liberty gas meter from it's base, spewing 237 pounds of natural gas, which could be heard at least a half a
mile or more. Hwy 49 was shut down for about two hours. The driver that hit the meter says she was run off
the road by another vehicle, according to Casey Co. Sheriff's Office. Several close residents were asked to
leave their home until the gas was shut off. City of Liberty Officials including Mayor Sweeney, Judge Wright
were at the scene, workers had to dig the cutoff valve open by hand, the valve was about 5 feet deep. The
in-climate weather was windy, cold, and sprinkles. Hats off to all responders, since the this was an
extremely dangerous situation. Responders include, Brush Creek Fire, Constable, Sheriff's Office, Casey

Muddy Monday Morning
A semi- truck and trailer stopped short of it's delivery, on Hwy 49 behind the A&D in Liberty, the roadway
was opened approximately at 10:00AM after a two hour blockage. The tractor bottomed out when it left the
roadway as it made the turn.
Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia 11-30-11

(Columbia, KY) – Trooper Andy Olson is investigating a one vehicle fatality that occurred at 4:40am on KY 80
seven miles East of Columbia.  Teresa Wooldridge, age 46 of Russell Springs, was operating a 2005 Dodge
Neon when it left the roadway, traveled over an embankment and struck a tree.  Wooldridge was not wearing a
seatbelt and pronounced deceased at the scene by the Adair County Coroner.  Trooper Olson was assisted at
the scene by the Adair County Coroner, Adair County EMS, Adair County Fire and Rescue, and the Adair County
Sheriff’s Department.

An arrest was made on Wednesday 11-30-11 in connection with the  Wesley
Drug store  break -in, Sunday Night/ Monday Morning, taken were drugs with
over $25,000 street value, entry was made through the floor investigating, are
Liberty Police Department and The Casey County Sheriff's Office.

A two vehicle accident at Hwy 80 and
Merritt Ridge Rd on Monday
12-5-2011.  The accident occurred at
1:17pm and was worked by The
Casey County Sheriff's Office, no
injuries reported. Also responding
were Volunteer Fire Departments.

POST 15, COLUMBIA

(Liberty, KY) – Post 15 Arson Investigator Alex Wesley is
investigating a Burglary and church fire that occurred in Casey
County some time between Monday, December 12 and
Wednesday December 14.  Perpetrator(s) attempted to set fire to
the Walnut Hill Seprate Baptist Church after gaining entry and
stealing a small safe and other items.

A two vehicle accident Friday afternoon just before 2PM sent three people to the
hospital by Casey EMS. The accident occurred on US 127 near the old Famous Recipe.
The driver of the Chevy was extricated from the auto by the Jaws of Life operated by the
Liberty/Casey County Rescue, also responding were , Liberty Fire, was investigated by
Liberty Police Dept.
